Survival & Environment

  • The Iceberg: Your colony lives on a physics-driven iceberg that tilts based on weight distribution. If a penguin falls off, it dies.
  • Biomechanics: Everything costs energy. Massive penguins have larger energy reserves but burn calories much faster. A penguin's speed depends on its wing size acting against the drag of its body width.

Diets & Feeding

  • Piscivores: Survive by eating fish that land on the iceberg.
  • Carnivores: Marked in red, these ruthless predators survive by hunting and eating smaller penguins.

Reproduction & Genetics

  • Assortative Mating: Well-fed penguins will seek to reproduce. They are picky and will actively seek out mates with similar beak and wing sizes, naturally forming distinct sub-species over time.
  • The Cost of Life: Creating offspring drains 35% of both parents' energy, forcing them to hunt immediately afterward.
  • Rapid Evolution: Babies inherit an average of their parents' traits, but a 20% mutation rate allows physical traits to swing wildly by up to 40%. This ensures highly visible, dynamic evolution across generations.

Player Controls

  • God Mode: Manually spawn highly randomized penguins to inject fresh DNA into the gene pool, or click the iceberg to toss extra fish.
  • Penguin Inspector: Click on any penguin to view its exact genetic makeup, physical stats, diet, and emotional state.
  • Simulation Dials: Use the UI sliders to speed up the flow of time or adjust the natural fish spawn rate to support giant mutants.
